Plan of the chapter

A – Fundamental research
B – Applied research

A - Fundamental research

Psyche & behaviors

The principal objective of this research is the comprehension of psyche, needs and behavior of Man. I.e. to know what sexuality, aggression or violence, language, pleasure or fear are, to know what an emotion or cognition are, to know the various neurobiological processes which are responsible for learning, reasoning or consciousness, and to determine what the main factors of psychological dynamics of human being would be.

Expressed differently, the general objective of this systemic and interdisciplinary research task is to define, on the basis of the last knowledge in neuroscience, a psychobiological, integrative and explanatory system of assumptions of the processes underlying the psychic activity and the various human behaviors.

Methodology

Another objective, primordial, is to define a methodology of research specific to hyper-complex topics. I.e. which methods does one have to use in order to give a global and coherent sense to the innumerable data coming from the various scientific fields relating to Man ?

B - Applied research

The secondary objectives of this research task relate to the ethical, social, educational, medical and societal implications of the psychobiological model of human psyche and behaviors :

– Ethical implications : What is the fundamental nature of biological systems dynamics, considered as a whole (biosphere), and what would the ethical implications of this dynamic be ?

– Social implications : What is the nature of interpersonal relational dynamics and what would the social implications of this dynamics be ?

– Educational implications : What is the nature of motivational, attentional and learning dynamics of children and adults, and what would the didactic and teaching implications of this dynamics be ?

– Medical implications : What is the nature of the human somato-psychic continuum dynamics and what would the preventive and therapeutic implications of this dynamics be ?

– Societal implications : What is the nature of social psychological dynamics of human groups and what would the societal implications of this dynamics be ?
